2 Timothy 3:1-5
You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
He also shared this:
"The Sin of ungratefulness is pursuing the desire for what you don't have instead of finding contentment and joy in the blessings you do have." Daniel Esmeraldo.
Somehow, all my life, I minimized being ungrateful as a bad attitude, not as a sin. The message on Sunday brought me to a new understanding that I don't want to partner with any of the sinful behaviors listed in 2 Timothy 3, including an ungrateful heart. I don't want to even have a crack in the armor that I put on everyday, that would allow the enemy to gain traction in my heart...no hint of ungodliness...no hint of ungratefulness!
We have the opportunity to hone our gratitude skills as we celebrate Thanksgiving this week and also live this out 24/7/365. I challenge you, as I challenge myself, to gain a new mindset on gratefulness and to give thanks for all God has done and all he has blessed us with. Also, to learn to give thanks even when situations, jobs, finances, and relationships etc are challenging. Thank you Jesus that you give us grace and strength!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
